In this article, Alicia Ng, an Ace Royal from Sunrider Malaysia shares how she was inspired by her father and followed his footsteps to turn her passion for wellness into a business opportunity, and eventually seeing her dreams come true!
Let’s take a look at how Alicia’s dream came true with Sunrider as she shares her personal story.
“As a young child, I hardly ever fell sick, because I’ve only used Sunrider products ever since I was young. In fact, my milk bottle has always filled with the chocolate flavoured goodness of Sunrider Products.
I am always known as a well-spoken child, as a result of my sociable personality. I’ve always loved following my dad to his social events. One day, during my teenage years, my dad came back home with a board stuck with all sorts of paper and he called me over to his side to show me what was on the board. It was my dad’s dream board; a board filled with pictures of things he wished to do. There were pictures of a big house, a luxury car and pictures of scenic views across the world, among which was the Niagara Falls and New York City. A thorough glimpse of all those pictures filled me with wonder.
A few years after my dad shared his dream board, we bought his dream luxury car! Now in my late 20’s, we finally got the big house we have always wanted and we are planning to move in by the next Chinese New Year once the renovation work is finished! Those pictures that my father shared with me during my younger days were one of the driving factors to why I wanted to travel around the world and experience the different cultures, with the people I love. It became my dream… and it all came true. While I am working with Sunrider, I’ve had wonderful opportunities to travel to most of the places I’ve always wanted to go, including Niagara Falls back in 2018!
The Sunrider culture and philosophy of Dr Chen’s family has always been an inspiration for me to move forward in this career. All of these wouldn’t have been possible if not for the opportunities that I had working with Sunrider.
On top of the privileged experiences that I have had working with Sunrider, I’m blessed that my parents have remained healthy and strong even in their mid-60s! The company’s passion and drive to make life better for people on a global scale is truly an inspiration. I am privileged to have learnt so much from Sunrider. Sunrider is a health and wellness company that has definitely proven to be one that can deliver what they promised since they have been in the market for 38 years.
I’m now working as a President for Junior Chamber International, and I am still living out Sunrider’s philosophy and passion. One of the creeds in the Junior Chamber International states “Service to humanity is the best work of life”. Serving as one of the presidents of Junior Chamber International, and having worked in Sunrider helps me to understand that forming a sustainable culture is never an easy task.
Besides working full-time in the Junior Chamber International, I am still inheriting my father’s work in Sunrider. The fact that this business is hereditary, a business that can be inherited from generation to generation, means that I can still continue my father’s lifework and legacy to impact lives around us for a greater good.
Having worked hand-in-hand alongside my father and Sunrider, I believe there’s so much more opportunities that I can pursue in the future. This being said, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Founders of Sunrider, Drs. Tei-Fu and Oi-Lin Chen, as well as their family for all they have done, the continuous support and opportunities they have given me and my parents.”
