Yields: 2 medium loaves

Ingredients:

  • 300 grams of bananas
  • 160 grams of sugar
  • 120 ml of vegetable oil
  • 120 ml of unsweetened milk
  • 1 egg
  • 200 grams of all-purpose flour
  • 5 grams of baking soda
  • 2 grams of salt
  • 100 grams of chopped walnuts
  • 2-3 stick packs of NuPlus® (any flavor of your choice)

Instructions:

  1. Mash the Bananas: Peel the bananas and mash them in a large bowl using a fork or a blender until smooth.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat the egg until frothy, then combine the mashed bananas, NuPlus®, sugar, oil, and milk, then mixi until well-blended.
  3. Prepare Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt to remove any lumps. This is your dry ingredient mixture.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
  5. Add Walnuts: Stir in about ¾ of the chopped walnuts, reserving some to sprinkle on top of the loaves for decoration.

Baking:

  1. Prepare the Pan: Grease your baking pans with a thin layer of butter or line them with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Pour the Batter: Fill each pan about ¾ full. Optionally, add banana slices on top for extra appeal.

  3. Preheat and Bake: Preheat your oven to 175°C (165°C for darker pans). Allow the oven to heat for about 10-15 minutes. Bake the banana bread for 50-60 minutes. The tops should turn golden brown and spring back when lightly pressed. Test with a toothpick—if it comes out clean, the bread is done.
  4. Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and cool it on a wire rack.

Tips for making the Perfect Banana Bread:

  • Choose ripe bananas with thin skin and a golden-yellow hue. Bananas with brown spots are ideal for this recipe.
  • Store leftover banana bread wrapped tightly in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
  • Avoid placing the bread on a sealed plate or tray, as trapped moisture can make the bottom of the bread soggy.
