Building healthier habits often takes time, patience, and consistency. For many people, well-being journeys are not about quick results, but about creating sustainable routines that can be maintained over time. In this personal story, Malsawmtluanga Ralte from India shares how participating in the SunFit® 321 Fitness Challenge 2025 encouraged him to become more consistent with his daily habits, exercise routine, and overall lifestyle.

“Hello, I am Malsawmtluanga Ralte If someone had told me a few years ago that I would become the 2nd runner-up of the SunFit 321 Challenge 2025, I probably would not have believed it. Like many who struggle with weight management, my journey began with years of trying to build healthier habits and maintain consistency.
By the time I reached adulthood, the scale hit a daunting peak of 152 kg. Carrying that weight wasn’t just a physical burden; it was a mental one. I wasn’t a stranger to effort, though. I had tried to lose weight more times than I can count. I would start with determination, but I always hit a “wall” at 115 kg. No matter what I did, my progress would stall, my motivation would wither, and I’d slide back into old habits. I started to think that 115 kg was simply where my body was destined to stay.
When I first discovered the SunFit321 Fitness Challenge, I felt encouraged by its structured approach and focus on consistency. Rather than looking for shortcuts, I wanted to develop healthier long-term habits that I could maintain as part of my daily routine. This challenge has been an education in the truest sense. It stripped away the myths and replaced them with science. I finally moved beyond “eating less” to understanding the precise mechanics of a calorie deficit. I learned the strategic advantage of metabolic timing—specifically why performing cardio after strength training creates the optimal environment for fat loss.

Throughout the challenge, I learned more about balanced nutrition, exercise routines, and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I also learned that progress doesn’t just happen while you’re moving. I developed a profound appreciation for recovery. I realized that a disciplined sleep schedule is just as vital to the transformation process as a heavy lifting session or a strict meal plan. Without rest, the body cannot be rebuilt.
Most importantly, I learned the importance of consistency. I realized that long-term progress is often built through small daily actions repeated over time. Showing up regularly, even on busy or difficult days, helped me stay committed to my routine.
I realized that the “wall” I often experienced at 115 kg was not simply about physical limitations, but also about maintaining consistency over time. The SunFit321 Fitness Challenge reminded me that sustainable progress is not about being perfect for a short period, but about staying committed to healthy habits consistently over time.. It’s about showing up on the days you feel tired, the days you’re busy, and the days the scale doesn’t move. Today, I am not just lighter in weight; I am stronger in character. If you are struggling with your own “wall,” know that with unwavering persistence, you can break through it.”
Disclaimer: To lose weight, you need to eat and drink fewer calories than you burn. This is called a calorie deficit. There are two ways to increase your calorie deficit: changing what and how much you eat, and exercise. Most doctors and nutritionists suggest a combination of both for healthy weight loss. Results may vary depending on the starting point, goals, and effort. Regular exercise and a proper diet are required to achieve and maintain weight loss. Please consult a physician before beginning any exercise program.
